This All Started With My Mom

My caregiving journey didn’t happen all at once…
it happened over time.

My mom had been living independently in California for a few years.

But during COVID… everything changed.

She became very ill due to renal failure and had to move back home. At first, she stayed with my sister. But as her condition declined, we knew she needed more consistent, hands-on care.

That’s when I made the decision to bring her into my home.

For the last five years of her life, I became her primary caregiver.

Caring for her day in and day out…
making sure she was safe, comfortable, and surrounded by love.

And while I did it…

it wasn’t easy.

There were moments of exhaustion.

Moments of stress and anxiety.

Moments where the weight of it all felt overwhelming.

I pushed through because I loved her.

But looking back…
I realize something important.

I didn’t have to do it alone.

And most families shouldn’t have to.

And I know firsthand what it feels like to try to figure it all out.

That realization is what led to the creation of A Legacy Of Love Homecare.
